Andrew Mount's Racing Tips 30.08.24

Andrew heads to the action at Sandown, Salisbury and Fontwell for his three stats-based selections on Friday, August 30th…
SANDOWN 3.00
QETAIFAN (system – Andrew Balding, second time out 2yos, beaten by 10L or less on debut)
Andrew Balding’s juveniles usually improve for the run and those who are beaten on their debuts but run with ten lengths of the winner often make good bets next time out, scoring with 110 of the 464 qualifiers (23.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £60.89 to a £1 level stake at SP. QETAIFAN caught the eye when a 22-1 fourth of 15 at Newmarket earlier this month, finishing well after a slow start and doing second best of those to come from off the pace and best of those drawn in double figures. The Starspangledbanner colt faces some interesting newcomers from top yards but can put his experience to good use.
SALISBURY 6.40
MONSIEUR FUDGE (system – George Scott, stable switchers)
The Amo Racing-owned MONSIEUR FUDGE ran a good race on his sole juvenile start for Richard Hannon last August, finishing an 8-1 third at Newmarket behind Macduff (subsequently rated 107) and Broadway Act, maiden winner the following month. The Frankel colt has moved to George Scott who has a fine recent record with stable switchers, scoring with four of the ten qualifiers since the beginning of last year for a profit of £20.94.
FONTWELL 6.45
DAMASK (system – Dan Skelton, stable switchers in handicap hurdles)
Dan Skelton has a solid record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, especially in handicap hurdles. He’s scored with 45 of the 148 qualifiers (30.4%) for a profit of £20.20, with those whose latest start came over hurdles landing 37 of their 105 starts (35.2%) for a profit if £38.66. The yard had a winner at Stratford on this system earlier in the week and DAMASK can keep the ball rolling.
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
