Andrew Mount's Racing Tips 29.10.24

Andrew heads to the jumps action at Bangor-on-Dee where he has three recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, October 29th.
BANGOR 12.50
IT’S MAISY signed off last season with a win at Uttoxeter, but Sue Smith’s break-returners usually need the run, and she could prove vulnerable after 188 days off the track. Since 2013, backing the yard’s hurdlers/chasers between May and November who had been off the track for more than 90 days would have found just 15 winners from 356 runners (4.2% strike-rate) for a huge loss of £219.29 to a £1 level stake at SP (-61.6% on turnover). So far this month the score is 0-16 and It’s Maisy rates a sell in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market. Course and distance winner BUTLER’S BRIEF might be the best port of call for fixed odds punters.
Recommendation: Oppose IT’S MAISY in Bangor 12.50
BANGOR 1.50
RIALANNAH – another inmate from the Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith yard – was very heavily backed for a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen earlier this month, going off as the 6-4 favourite from 13-2 despite returning from a 175-day break. The five-year-old could only finish an 18-length fourth of eight but will improve for the outing and looks worth supporting in this mares’ handicap hurdle. She’ll appreciate racing against her own sex again and the switch to handicap company for the first time could also produce improvement. Buy in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back RIALANNAH in Bangor 1.50
BANGOR JOCKEYS
SEAN BOWEN, who has four rides today, looks worth supporting in the Sporting Index BANGOR JOCKEYS market. LITTLE MISS DANTE (1.50) pulled up on her final two starts last term but those came in Group 2/Listed company, and she’ll appreciate the drop to Class 4 mares’ handicap hurdle company and looks set to pick up at least 10pts. Her record below Class 1 level reads 2111 (3-4) and she’s had a wind operation since we last saw her. MONBARI’s chance in the 3m handicap chase (2.22) is less obvious – the Rebecca Menzies-trained six-year-old is making his debut over fences – but he’s run well on both previous seasonal debuts, finishing second at 7-1 and fourth at 33-1, and could surprise. VALENS BRUYEE (2.57), another chase debutant, signed off with a handicap hurdle win at Ffos Las last term and will appreciate the deep ground, while point winner DOUGLAS HYDE (4.07)represents sire Affinsea, whose progeny do well in bumpers, especially on soft or heavy going.
Recommendation: Buy SEAN BOWEN in Bangor Jockeys
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
