Andrew Mount's Racing Tips 28.06.2024

Andrew heads to Newmarket and Cartmel for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, June 28th.
NEWMARKET 6.25
SUPREME BEAUTY was a big eyecatcher on her racecourse debut for James Horton at Beverley last September, blowing the start before staying on well into a 7-1 third of seven, just over one length behind the winner. The daughter of No Nay Never fared clear best of those to come from off the pace and looks very interesting now making her debut for in-form Mick Appleby. Her new handler has a fantastic record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 105 of the 582 qualifiers (18% strike-rate) for a profit of £332.02 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 72.53, A/E = 1.45). So far in 2024, the score is seven from 19, with the last three qualifiers winning at 16-1, 3-1 and 2-1. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back SUPREME BEAUTY in Newmarket 6.25
CARTMEL JOCKEYS
JAMES BOWEN has a good record at Cartmel, scoring on 12 of his 60 mounts for a profit of £22.03 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 10.57, A/E = 1.13). Over hurdles only, his record is eight from 27 for a profit of £43.25. Two of his four rides today are in hurdle races and the first of them, SHANTOU CHAMPAGNE, has a chance to pick up points in the opening 2m6f maiden hurdle (1.20) despite trading at 12-1 with Spreadex in the fixed odds betting (5-7 in the 50-25-10 market). The seven-year-old finished as runner-up in two bumpers back in 2021 and ran with credit on her return from a mammoth 1006-day absence here last month, finishing fourth at 50-1. That run was clearly needed, and she could sneak into the frame. The case for OF COURSE YOU CAN is more clear-cut in division one of the mares’ handicap hurdle (2.30). The six-year-old has made the frame on her preferred good ground the last twice and has her conditions again. MARIO DE PAIL (3.05) is still unconvincing in the jumping department but ran third here last time and has place claims with a clear round, while OLIVER TRAVELS made a very pleasing chase debut when a close-up third at Uttoxeter and can build on that in the novices’ handicap chase (4.15). Buy JAMES BOWEN at 26.5 in the Spreadex CARTMEL JOCKEYS market.
Recommendation: Back JAMES BOWEN in Cartmel Jockeys
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
