Andrew heads to Lingfield and Salisbury for his three recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, July 24th.
LINGFIELD JOCKEYS
SAFFIE OSBORNE impressed when scoring on King Of Scotia on the Polytrack here yesterday, taking a pull and settling behind the leader on one who is normally a front-runner, avoiding the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail and challenging down the middle to score comfortably at odds of 8-1. That was her eighth winning ride in the past fortnight from 34 mounts (24% strike-rate) and she can keep the ball rolling this afternoon. Her six rides today vary in price from 4-1 to 33-1 with I LOVE DAD (3.50) one of the more interesting ones. The son of Ardad steps out of selling grade for the first time to contest this 6f nursery but his speed figures suggest he’ll be competitive. TEN COMMITMENTS (4.50) didn’t enjoy the Polytrack surface when only fifth here last time but form figures on turf of 221 (1-3) suggest he’ll be thereabouts and Osborne rates a buy at 28 in the LINGFIELD JOCKEYS market with Sporting Index
Recommendation: Buy SAFFIE OSBORNE in Lingfield Jockeys.
LINGFIELD 2.20
George Scott’s BAROQUE BOY (number 1 on the racecard today) was very disappointing at Bath last time, trailing home ten lengths behind the winner in sixth place despite starting as the 13-8 favourite, but the race was not run to suit his patient style and he’s quickly returned to the all-weather. He scored at Wolverhampton the last time he ran on synthetics and his trainer has a fine recent record with geldings in all-weather handicaps, scoring with 32 of the 119 qualifiers (27%) since the beginning of 2022 for a profit of £27.71 to the usual £1 stake (expected winners = 21.09, A/E = 1.52). Rather than back him in the outright betting it might be best to sell at 9.1 in the DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER market with Sporting Index, which will lessen the blow if odd-on favourite GRACIOUS LEADER (no.4) should prevail.
Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Lingfield 2.20
SALISBURY 7.40
BAMA LAMA is on the drift this morning but that was the case last time when James Millman’s consistent mare won at Ffos Las (7-1 from 7-2). That success took her handicap record in the months of July and August to 11223312611 (5-11), with the sixth-place excusable as she did too much too soon over 6f on soft ground at Ffos Las. She looks well drawn in stall 2 and can continue to make hay while the son shines. Buy in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back BAMA LAMA in Salisbury 7.40
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
