CURRAGH 2.05
Last year, I wrote the following about LAUGH A MINUTE in the Racing Post Weekender after his run at Dundalk on February 24th…
‘Laugh A Minute trailed home in last place but Polytrack is not is surface and he can be backed on his next turf outing
The Ado McGuinness-trained Laugh A Minute drifted from 11-1 to 22-1 in the Willie Buckley Memorial Handicap at Dundalk last Friday – his first start for 119 days – and never got competitive, finishing last of the seven runners. However, the eight-year-old is now 0-11 on the all-weather and will be far happier on turf when the new season gets going later this month. Since joining his current handler, his record on his second start back after a break of at least 90 days stands at 1611 (3-4), with the wins at odds of 16-1, 11-2 and 11-4.’
There was a sense of déjà vu when Laugh A Minute returned from a break of 110 days at Dundalk last month, finishing seventh of nine in the same 6f handicap. He again drifted in the betting (20-1 from 12-1) and that will have put him spot on for today’s race, one he was landed for the past two seasons. Buy in the Sporting Index 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (7-2).
Recommendation: Back LAUGH A MINUTE in Curragh 2.05
CURRAGH 4.10
There’s not a huge amount of early pace in the Irish Lincolnshire this afternoon and George Boughey’s RAADOBARG, one of the likeliest front-runners, could prove hard to pass. The six-year-old peaks in the spring, recording form figures of 1111133 (5-7) from March to May. His record outside of this period stands at zero from 13 and the son of Night Of Thunder, already a winner on heavy ground, will relish today’s conditions and can be bought in the Sporting Index 50-30-20-10 market (he’s 5-1 in the fixed odds betting).
Recommendation: Back RADDOBARG in Curragh 4.10
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. The views within this preview are those of Andrew Mount, professional tipster and journalist, and not those of Sporting Index.
