Andrew Mount's Racing Tips 17.09.24

Andrew made a good profit with his buy of DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in the 4.55 at Kempton on Monday (market made up at 24) and he has two recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, September 17th.
PUNCHESTOWN 2.25
We don’t get many Flat meetings at Punchestown, but it usually pays to avoid front-runners at this venue – unlike on the jumps course – and STARRY DESERT, forecast to start as the 3-1 third favourite by the Racing Post, looks worth opposing in this 1m maiden. Jessica Harrington’s juvenile has made the running the last twice, finishing over four lengths back in fourth when 7-1 for a Killarney maiden in mid-July and going down by about the same distance when runner-up in a six-runner maiden at Galway last time. The Sea The Moon colt will have a target on his back once more and can be sold in the Sporting Index 50-30-20-10 market.
Recommendation: Oppose STARRY DESERT in Punchestown 2.25
BRIGHTON 4.20
The Daniel & Claire Kubler yard struck with 25-1 shot Royale Goodnight at Kempton last night and while WALEYFA will be nothing like that price she can keep the yard’s good form going. The six-year-old bolted up over today’s course and distance on her stable debut last month and looked a shade unlucky not to follow up under a penalty at Southwell six days later, as she met trouble in running. The Kublers do well with horses that take over from other yards (not necessarily at the first time of asking), scoring with 40 of the 290 qualifiers (13.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £7.28 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 35.72, A/E = 1.12) and she can be bought in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market or back in the fixed odds betting.
Recommendation: Back WALEYFA in Brighton 4.20
NEWCASTLE 6.30
George Boughey does well when using a first-time hood, scoring with 11 of the 40 qualifiers (27.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £9.67 to a £1 level stake at SP, with the fillies on the all-weather recording form figures of 0311313421 (4-10) for a profit of £8.48 (the only one who finished out of the frame was a 50-1 shot). NIGHT IN PARIS, placed twice on turf at Ripon, should be able to dominate in this 6f fillies’ novice contest and rates a buy in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Back NIGHT IN PARIS in Newcastle 6.30
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
