Andrew heads to Beverley and the jumps meeting at Southwell for his two recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, May 14th.

BEVERLEY 3.15

THANKUAPPRECIATE has won just once from 16 career starts and has yet to score in four goes for current trainer Declan Carroll but he’s consistent and looks the ideal buy in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market for this ten-runner 5f handicap. The four-year-old has a good PRB (percentage of rivals beaten) score on turf of 54.48%, superior to all his rivals today, thanks to form figures over 5f-6f since his debut of 3212320324534 (1-13). He can be slowly into stride, as he was when a respectable fourth of 13 over 6f at Thirsk on last month’s reappearance but will appreciate the return to a fast-run 5f and it’s hard to see him finishing out of the three.

Recommendation: Back THANKUAPPRECIATE in Beverley 3.15

 

SOUTHWELL 5.05

Donald McCain has a very modest record with his hurdlers/chasers at Southwell, scoring with just three of the 104 runners since the beginning of 2013 for a loss of £73.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 12.15, A/E = 0.25). Point winner JUST GINO could only finish a 19-length fifth when sent off as the 9-4 favourite for his Rules debut in a Bangor novices’ hurdle in December and can be opposed again. Sell in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose JUST GINO in Southwell 5.05
