Andrew made a good profit with his buy of WILLIAM BUICK at Doncaster on Thursday and has three recommended bets/trades on Friday, September 13th…
DONCASTER 3.00
BIG MOJO heads the betting for the 5f Flying Childers Stakes on the strengths of his Gimcrack fourth at York’s Ebor meeting but, while he’ll be suited by the cut back to the minimum trip, it was still disappointing to see him finish two lengths behind the winner as he raced on the quickest part of the track from his favourable low draw. I also want to field against TROPICAL STORM, who looked flattered from his stall 1 draw when landing the Listed Roses Stakes at York. Rather than sell the pair, I’m going to back outsider MAW LAM who has form figures over this 5f trip of 1233 (1-4), with the first defeat by half a length when getting no sort of run in the Hilary Needler at Beverley and the first of the third places coming when 50-1 for the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. The Adrian Nicholls-trained filly only went down by a neck when third in a 5f Listed contest at Deauville last time and Jamie Spencer rides this track well. Buy in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price, each-way (16-1 at the time of writing).
Recommendation: Back MAW LAM in Doncaster 3.00
CHESTER 3.20
WHITE UMBRELLA is la huge price for this 6f handicap on account of her wide draw, but she runs best in spring/autumn and her last three wins have come on left-handed tracks. Chris Kellett’s mare looked on her way back when a two-length 22-1 sixth at Hamilton last time and we’ve seen plenty of high-drawn winners at Chester of late, especially when the ground is on the soft side (it’s officially heavy, soft in places today). Buy in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (33-1 at the time of writing).
Recommendation: Back WHITE UMBRELLA in Chester 3.20
DONCASTER 4.45
WHIRL was very green on her debut at the Curragh in July but ran a promising race, finishing an 11-1 fourth behind the odds-on Red Letter in a fillies’ maiden at the Curragh. Aidan O’Brien’s daughter of Wootton Basset was only two lengths behind stablemate Ballet Slippers (winner since) that day and took a step forward when fifth of 17 to Angelo Buonarroti in the valuable Convivial maiden at York, doing well to finish so close from stall 15 (non-runner adjusted) when it was a big advantage to be drawn low. This represents a drop in class and she can be bought in the Sporting Index 50-25-10 market (9-4 in the fixed odds betting).
Recommendation: Back WHIRL in Doncaster 4.45
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
