Andrew Mount's Racing Tips 02.07.24

Andrew heads to Brighton’s afternoon meeting for his two recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, July 2nd.
BRIGHTON 2.25
Tony Carroll has struck with seven of his 18 Brighton runners since the beginning of June and backing them all would have returned a profit of £6.22 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who started in the first three in the betting were seven from 13 (+£11.22), with three of the six beaten horses finishing second or third. Carroll saddles one of the market leaders in this 6f classified contest in the shape of ALFRED COVE (stall 5 of 9) but stablemate MY KIND OF GIRL (stall 7) could be the one, despite her 0-12 record. The four-year-old finished second to Voodoo Ray over course and distance in late April on her first visit to the seaside venue and that form was boosted when the winner went on to complete a hat-trick. My Kind Of Girl’s only other course run produced an 18-1 fourth of nine (beaten by just over one length) and the return to this venue will suit after a modest effort at Bath last time. Rather than just buy MY KIND OF GIRL in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market, I’m going to buy DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER, which will cushion the blow should Alfred Cove win.
Recommendation: Buy DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in Brighton 2.25
BRIGHTON 3.55
CHOURMO’s all-weather record of 237766547 (0-9) suggests that it’s safe to ignore his seventh of ten at Chelmsford on June 20th and he’s best judged on his turf figures of 0648131 (2-7), improving to 4131 (2-4) on switchback tracks such as Brighton and Epsom. The fourth place came when 66-1 in a Class 4 nursery and the third place by just three-quarters of a length. Mark Gillard’s four-year-old should get a good tow into the race from CORPORATE RAIDER, who made the running when he beat that one by a neck over course and distance on his penultimate start. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back CHOURMO in Brighton 3.55
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
