HOW DO I OPEN AN ACCOUNT?

To open an account, select the ‘Join’ option from the top nav bar, or open a Sporting Index account here. Applying for an account is a quick and simple process and can be accessed 24 hours a day. We will require complete and accurate details in order to establish clients’ identity and to carry out fraud and security checks.

Depending on the information provided, you could be granted an account straight away, or in some circumstances we will require further documentary information from you including photographic ID (such as a copy of your passport or driving licence) and proof of your address (such as a recent utility bill or bank statement). Although we require employment details, we will not contact your employer as part of the application. We do not take any applications over the phone.

We are required by law to make sure our service is appropriate for clients, so before submitting your application please make sure that you have read our terms and conditions and that you understand and are comfortable with the risks involved with spread betting.

Can I have more than one account?

In the majority of circumstances it is not possible to open more than one account.

Do you charge for having an account with SPORTING INDEX?

No, we do not charge you for holding an account with Sporting Index. There are no minimum deposit requirements, joining fees, contracts to sign or obligation to trade.

What currency can I operate my account in?

We offer accounts in GBP, USD, EUR, CHF and CAD. This is not a conclusive list and we are happy to look at requests for accounts in other denominations on a case-by-case basis.
