How do I open an account and how long does it take?

To open an account, select the ‘Join’ option above, or open a Sporting Index account here and follow the instructions given. It is a relatively quick and simple process, but we will require complete and accurate details in order to carry out our fraud and security checks. Depending on the information provided you could be granted an account straight away, or in some circumstances we will require further information from you.

I have an account but cannot log in?

To access the online facility you require a password. If you cannot remember your login details, you can reset your password here.

If you have a password but are getting a message saying that the password is invalid or your account is locked when attempting to log in, please either reset your password via the link above or call our Sports Room (0208 1454 080) or our Back Office team (0208 1454 090) who will trigger a new password for you.

Do you charge for having an account with SPORTING INDEX?

No, we do not charge you for holding an account with Sporting Index.

A Stop Level Account

A Stop Level Account is designed to limit your exposure to both losses and profits by automatically attaching a 'stop' level when you open a Spread Bet. You should therefore check what “stop loss” and “stop win” level limit is applied to a Spread Bet prior to opening that Spread Bet with us. Note that stop levels vary from Index to Index and are not available on all Indices. Stop levels are usually available on our Website. If, however, the stop levels are not published for the Spread Bet you wish to place, or you do not have access to our Website at the time you wish to place your Spread Bet, you should contact Customer Services for this information at info@sportingindex.com or on 0208 1454 090.

For Spread Bets that have “stop win” and “stop loss” levels those levels are the maximum number of points away from the level at which the Spread Bet was opened at which the Spread Bet will be closed.

Having a Stop Level Account does not guarantee that your losses will not exceed the amount of your Deposit or Trading Facility Limit.

“Stop losses” and “Stop wins” are placed on all Spread Betting markets, except for Spread Bets that have a Maximum Make-up or Minimum Make-up.

How do I close an account?

What are the different ways of depositing funds with sporting index?

Money may be added to your account by debit or credit card registered in your name, by direct debit from your bank account, by cheque (payable to Sporting Index Ltd and issued on an account in your name) or by Direct Bank Transfer (sort code 20-06-05 and account number 43654826) – you’ll need to make sure that your Sporting Index account number is quoted as a reference.

What currencies can I trade with?

You can select which currency you would like to trade with when opening your account. You can select from sterling, euros or US dollars.

Can I deposit money via Skrill or Moneybookers?

Unfortunately, we do not accept Skrill or Moneybookers payments.
